The Vogler String Quartet features Marcelo Nissinman, a prodigy on the bandoneon! Marcelo Nissinman is a composer & bandoneon player born in Buenos Aires and currently based in Basel, Switzerland, who is active worldwide. Trained by Astor Piazzolla as a young man, he is a world-class bandoneonist who has performed with Martha Argerich, Gidon Kremer, Gary Burton, Fernando Suarez Paz, the Asado Brothers, WDR Big Band, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Charles Dutoit & Philadelphia Orchestra, and others. As a composer, he is popular for his unique style of combining tango and 20th century classical music. In this album, he performs with the Vogler String Quartet in a variety of combinations including "bandoneon + string quartet," a "bandoneon, violin, double bass" trio, and a "bandoneon + violin" duo.The last track, "4 for Vogler," was composed for the Vogler String Quartet.
