The strikingly patterned Golfodulcean poison frog (Phyllobates vittatus) is native to the lowland rainforests of Costa Rica. Like all poison dart frogs, it has a powerful neurotoxin in its skin. It is threatened by deforestation, as rainforests are cleared for urban development and farming.
