Set in the snowy location of Wideview Chalet, Detective Inspector Bonaparte, half-caste aboriginal and 'Boney' to his friends, find an uncanny set of tracks in the snow that may reveal the killer. The victim is a German who left his country before its wartime collapse and is living under an assumed name at the chalet.
