This old painting I believe does full and complete justice to the Tiger Iris (Tigridia lilacea, native to Central America)--quite a stunner. And I think it's become all the better with age, with the cream of the board showing stains here and there, adding to its aura of sorts. To my eye, quite a satisfying thing, which I think I'd just prop somewhere as is, perhaps to keep company with some potted orchids and tropical plants!

12 1/4" x 8". Good overall condition, with bumps to a few corners and a little paper loss at upper right. The Whatman board I believe dates it to the first quarter of the 20th century.
