“Mañana, otra flor”, de Soledad Borches, es un fotolibro dedicado a su mamá, Nora, quien se suicidó cuando la autora tenía 12 años. Compuesto por imágenes de los archivos personales de ambas, reapropiadas y resignificadas, el proyecto aborda el amor, la pérdida, la memoria y la permanencia de los vínculos más allá de la muerte.

Al mismo tiempo, la autora se pregunta por el deber ser y observa a Nora ya no desde el vínculo entre madre e hija, sino como mujer atravesada por el amor de pareja, los mandatos y sus propios deseos.

“Mañana, otra flor” es también la respuesta de la autora, treinta años después, a la carta de despedida que Nora escribió antes de morir.

Soledad Borches es fotógrafa y licenciada en Ciencias de la Comunicación Social de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Su trabajo explora la memoria colectiva e individual, así como problemáticas socioculturales y medioambientales, a través de la fotografía y el trabajo con archivos e imágenes reapropiadas.

Se formó con artistas como Juan Travnik, Valeria Bellusci, Julio Fuks y Gisela Volá, y en 2011 se especializó en retrato y fotografía callejera en el International Center of Photography (ICP), en Nueva York.

Su obra participó en destacadas exposiciones y festivales nacionales e internacionales, entre los que sobresalen el 102.o Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales (2013), ICP Concerned (2020) y la Bienal Argentina de Fotografía Documental (2018, 2022, 2024), donde su serie “El principio” recibió una mención honorífica en 2022. En 2025, integró la muestra colectiva “Corporeidades” de El Ojo Salvaje en Paraguay. Ese mismo año, fue distinguida con una mención otorgada en conjunto por PhotoEspaña y la Fundación Canal.

En 2025 publicó su primer fotolibro, “Mañana, otra flor”.

“Mañana, otra flor” by Soledad Borches, is a photobook dedicated to her mother, Nora, who committed suicide when the author was 12 years old. Composed of images from their personal archives, reappropriated and reinterpreted, the project addresses love, loss, memory, and the enduring nature of bonds beyond death.

At the same time, the author questions what should be and observes Nora not only from the perspective of the mother-daughter relationship, but also as a woman shaped by romantic love, societal expectations, and her own desires.

“Mañana, otra flor” is also the author’s response, thirty years later, to the farewell letter Nora wrote before her death.

Soledad Borches is a photographer and holds a degree in Social Communication Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Her work explores collective and individual memory, as well as sociocultural and environmental issues, through photography and the use of archives and repurposed images.

She trained with artists such as Juan Travnik, Valeria Bellusci, Julio Fuks, and Gisela Volá, and in 2011 specialized in portrait and street photography at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York.

Her work has been featured in prominent national and international exhibitions and festivals, including the 102nd National Salon of Visual Arts (2013), ICP Concerned (2020), and the Argentine Biennial of Documentary Photography (2018, 2022, 2024), where her series “The Beginning” received an honorable mention in 2022. In 2025, she participated in the group exhibition “Corporeities” at El Ojo Salvaje in Paraguay. That same year, she received a joint award from PhotoEspaña and the Canal Foundation.

In 2025, she published her first photobook, “Mañana, otra flor”.
